War and Pixels is a documentary of 52 minutes in which viewers will be plunged headfirst into the incredible universe of Wargaming. In the heart of the diverse community of military history enthusiasts, we find the Belarusian Victor Kislyi, an avid gamer and history fan capable of fusing two passions into a global phenomenon.
From Minsk to Los Angeles, from Paris to St. Petersburg, War and Pixels explores story of one of the most successful history video games of all time, one which is capable of satisfying both those fascinated by history but also players who seek a veritable and exciting gaming experience
Parallel to this, the film also explores the evolution of the military engines themselves (tanks, planes and warships,) but also the evolution of the video games industry and current emerging trends (the freemium model and the phenomenon of e-sports). Viewers will learn just how a game about history, hence ostensibly traditional, is actually breaking down barriers in the one of the most dynamic industries in the world and changing the way people access and consume video games.
