LE Rights (LER) is thrilled to have just signed a deal with ROSG and DE FACTO FILMS to ensure the worldwide distribution of this mini-series (2x80’) pioneering a new genre, the Celtic noir.

The series set audience records when first broadcast on TG4 in October 2014, with a six-fold increase in viewership among 15-34-year-olds.

Directed by Tom Collins-whose film Kings, presented at the 2008 Oscars, was nominated and awarded at numerous festivals-the hit thriller stars John Finn (Cold Case, Dawson) Dara Devaney and Owen McDonnell among others.

The film version of An Bronntanas was Ireland's submission to the 2015 Oscars in the best foreign language film category and received the jury's special award at the 2015 Boston Irish Film Festival.

An Bronntanas (The Gift) is a contemporary thriller set against the backdrop of the Conamara Coastline and the lives of a local lifeboat crew. One stormy night, the crew are called on a rescue mission. When they come across the distressed boat, they find a single crewmember—handcuffed to the steering wheel, viciously murdered—and a cargo of over €1 million worth of drugs. Their dilemma: bring home the dead crewmember, or keep the drugs. They decide to keep the drugs for their own financial gain. Their lives spiral into a world of paranoia, violence and tragedy.
